Workshops and Events > Past Exhibitions A Beauty Centre

Venue: Lim Hak Tai Gallery
Date Of Event: 16 April - 15 May 2016

A Beauty Centre (ABC) is visual artist and sculptor Yeo Chee Kiong’s most ambitious and largest site-specific installation project yet. Featuring three major series of his sculptural works that were remixed and reinterpreted for NAFA’s gallery space, ABC existed as a constructed social space that was both physical and virtual, inviting interaction and discussion about the idea of beauty in today’s modern, urban, human world. Collaborating with Yeo were composer-musician, Dr Joyce Koh and Glasgow-based performance artist Ruth Barker. Both artists presented sound and video works as part of the opening event as well as rolled out a series of workshops that lent resonance and interpretive room to this unique, visual art project. Yeo is an alumnus of NAFA and Glasgow School of Art, UK.
