Ang Xue Ning (2000- )
Ang Xue Ning is a multidisciplinary artist and alumna of NAFA (Diploma in Fine Art, 2020). During her studies at NAFA, she received the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Entry Scholarship and the Tan Chay Bing Scholarship, and was awarded First Prize in the Woon Tai Jee Art Prize at the 2020 Fine Art Graduation Show.
Ang's practice explores the expressive potential of materials as a means of examining human qualities and behaviour. Influenced by her encounters with both living and dead animals, she creates works in which animal figures are situated within ambiguous or surreal settings. Treating art-making as a process of experimentation, she investigates how materials, context, and the environment shape the ways a subject can be perceived and interpreted.
