Casey Tan (1994 - )
Casey Tan is a Singaporean painter whose work centres on visual metaphor and narrative. Tan graduated with a Diploma in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2016, where he was a recipient of the Ngee Ann Kongsi Scholarship. In 2019, he was named UOB Most Promising Artist of the Year for his painting The Water Is Wide. Tan's works have been exhibited across Southeast Asia and Europe and he has held solo exhibitions Night Call and Hard to Say Goodbye at Cuturi Gallery, Singapore.
In 2026, Tan participated in the UOB–NAFA artist-in-residence programme at NAFA Studios @ Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Departing from his usual precise, carefully constructed style, he documented his experience of the city as a first-time visitor, working in fast, gestural strokes alongside studies in composition and mood board development.
