Jeremy Sharma (1977- )
Jeremy Sharma is a Singaporean visual artist whose practice spans painting, video, sound, and installation. His work dissects the language of painting and explores the complex intersections between materiality, design and contemporary culture. He received his BA (Fine Art) from the RMIT University in 2003 and his MA (Fine Art) from LASALLE College of Arts in 2006. Over the years, Jeremy has presented numerous solo exhibitions in Singapore and participated in many group exhibitions internationally.
Jeremy has undertaken several international residencies in the UK, Manila, and Mexico. He is also the recipient of multiple awards, such as the Royal Overseas Travel Scholarship Award in 2007, the 2005 JCCI Arts Award with KYTV, the Studio 106 residency award (2004, Singapore) and Della Butcher Award (1999). He was a finalist in the Philip Morris Singapore Arts Awards (2003) and received the Lee Foundation Study Grant (2002).
