This publication follows the exhibition More Space 空间 by artist and NAFA alumna, Hong Sek Chern. Featuring 14 works and installation images from the exhibition, the book provides an overview of the artist's foray into 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional space using Chinese ink as a medium for exploration.
The publication includes a short essay by Dr Bridget Tracy Tan, Director, Institute of Southeast Asian Arts and Art Galleries, NAFA, discussing aspects of space and composition in Hong's practice that are physical, visual and psychological in nature, thus invoking larger sensory idioms of space that are not completely defined by realistic forms.
