Lim Yew Kuan was born in 1928 in Xiamen, China. He graduated from NAFA with a Diploma in Fine Art in 1950 and went on to study painting and printmaking at Chelsea School of Art, London, UK from 1960-61. In 2011, he was awarded the prestigious Cultural Medallion award in Visual Arts. Seasons - Lim Yew Kuan presents a selection of oil paintings from the artist's early years to more recent depictions of landscapes and wintry scenes during his visit to Europe between 2013-2014. The book contains a foreword written by Low Sze Wee, Director, Curatorial and Collection, National Gallery Singapore and an essay by Dr Bridget Tracy Tan, Director, Institute of Southeast Asian Arts and Art Galleries, NAFA, discussing Lim's artistic contributions and legacy.
