Workshops and Events > Past Exhibitions Flagship Genius featuring Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám

Venue: The Ngee Ann Kongsi Galleries 1 & 2
Date Of Event: 13 January - 25 February 2024

Flagship Genius is a regular platform held yearly to highlight emerging talents across disciplines within NAFA as part of the NAFA Open House. This 2024, the Southeast Asian project across programmes focuses on Vietnam’s Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám (Temple of Literature), to inspire the students in their creative journey, advocating interdisciplinary artmaking within the academy.

The inauguration of the double-bill exhibition showcases a panorama of talent in artmaking from NAFA’s Faculty of Art & Design with the outcomes of over 200 students who participated in the academy-wide project using the Temple of Literature, Hanoi, as a creative stimulus and subject matter.

Specially choreographed performances by Dance, English Drama and Mandarin Drama students along with musical arrangements by Music programme featuring the Gamelan, Chinese and Western instruments, bring to life the inspiration of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám. Production outcomes of the students are also displayed, revealing their reflections and studied efforts through thinking and making processes specific to their discipline. Alongside this, FOAD gives a starring role to recent works created by Degree and Diploma students and alumni. The display combines a rich portfolio of NAFA’s continuing artistic journey.
