Venue: The Ngee Ann Kongsi Galleries 1 & 2
Date Of Event: 9 - 26 September 2010

NAFA alumni Asanul Nazryn, Simon Pan and Yang Jie were commissioned by NAFA Art Galleries to create an installation unique to NAFA Galleries 1 & 2. The installation is a passage of rooms that progressively inveigle and distort normalised experiences of the participant, creating a physical adventure into random space. Yang Jie, our recent Best Graduate for Fine Art, explains, “We think that perhaps the fourth dimension of space is our imagination so we want the viewer to exercise that as they walk through the installation.” This project demonstrates the ultimate test of how our young graduates begin to conceptualise real projects for the real world. Fraught with some difficulty and many challenges, the final fabrication and realisation were hopefully evident lessons in critical collaborative efforts between NAFA Art Galleries and the young graduates.
