Artist Chiew Sien Kuan is an alumnus and a long-serving teacher at NAFA. Soul Yield was Chiew's first solo exhibition and featured his works from 1993 to 2019. The exhibition offered a glimpse into the inner workings of his mind and research interests, where he freely explored the use of found objects and the unconventional, that are often unique propositions that defied the traditional notion of art. An exhibition walkthrough followed by a workshop masterclass, 'A sum of its parts, deconstructed assemblage' was organised with the artist. The participants made and assembled a simple structure, using wood and other materials based on the fundamental concepts of force and tension.
