Singaporean artist, seal carver and NAFA alumnus, Tan Chin Boon opened his solo show with much support and fanfare. A rare student of seal carving and Chinese ink painting under renowned pioneer artists-teachers, See Hiang To and Chen Chong Swee, he had evolved a distinctive style that reflected his humble and witty outlook on life. The exhibition was officiated by dedicated artmaker and longtime member of NAFA’s teaching faculty, Tan Kee Sek. Following the exhibition’s conclusion, the artist gifted 2 of his paintings "Strolling in the Wetlands (12)" 墨入湿地 and "At Ease (1)" 悠游自在 to NAFA. These works contribute to NAFA’s collection, documenting artistic practices by alumni who have influenced the Academy work and visual arts landscape in Singapore.
