Workshops and Events > Past Workshops and Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam 'Temple of Literature': Be-Inspired Workshop Series

Over the course of 3 days, over 250 students from the programmes of 3D Design, Design & Media, Fashion Studies, Fine Art, Theatre, Music, Dance and Arts Management attended workshops co-hosted by Heritage Space from Vietnam. Artists and practitioners from architecture, fashion, traditional music and performance, and traditional craft collage and lantern-making came to Singapore to engage and impart knowledge to the students participating in the workshops.

The workshops allowed students from various courses to learn about the rich culture of Vietnam through the lens of artists and practitioners from Vietnam. The diversity of contemporary practice employed in the multiple workshops introduced students at NAFA to the varied possibilities of adopting multidisciplinary approaches in their practices as they get inspired to generate new ideas and insights that will eventually develop and express into creative outcomes.

The 3-day workshop concluded with students presenting their creative outcomes from different workshops to all of their peers. Some of these outcomes inspired and were also presented at the double-bill exhibition Flagship Genius featuring Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám in January 2024.
