Ari Bayuaji (1975- )
Ari Bayuaji was born in Indonesia in 1975. Moving permanently to Canada in 2005, he studied Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal (2005-2010). Sharing his time between Montreal and Bali, the artist is known mainly for his art installations and artwork that addresses issues related to contemporary problems in society.
His artwork is collected by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Quebec National Museum of Fine Art. His artistic projects and installations have been featured in solo exhibitions at major international institutions such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2019), The Esplanade Theatres on The Bay, Singapore (2014 and 2019), Parkhaus im Malkastenpark, Germany (2019), Nunu Fine Art, Taiwan (2018), the Redbase Foundation, Indonesia (2016) and Kunstal, The Netherlands (2016) as well as a residency in collaboration with the Agnes B. Foundation (Paris) in St. Alvère France (2017).
