Resources > Research Materials Public Sculpture in Singapore

“Originally the most transparent of all the arts because the closest to the physical nature of its subject matter, sculpture enjoys the benefit of being the art to which the least connotation of fiction or illusion is attached.”
– Clement Greenberg, 'The New Sculpture', Partisan Review, June 1949

These images were taken in 2012 and 2015, as part of a research effort to document the public works at various locations in Singapore. This is not an exhaustive list but it shows the repertoire of public sculpture commissions that have been completed by practitioners from the fields of fine art, sculpture and architecture.
