Workshops and Events > Past Workshops and Activities UOB - NAFA Southeast Asian Arts Forum 2024 | Way of the valiant : Paving Art Through War

Venue: The Ngee Ann Kongsi Galleries 1 & 2
Date Of Event: 2 August 2024

Organised by the Institute of Southeast Asian Arts (ISEAA) at NAFA-UAS, and now in its fifth edition, the UOB-NAFA Southeast Asian Arts Forum 2024 took on the theme of ‘Way of The Valiant: Paving Art Through War’. Featuring livestreamed presentations, performances, and dialogues, the Forum is a gathering a diverse regional representation of artists, scholars and speakers from Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos; where they reflect on how art and creative practices should not only endure, but assert their relevance amidst conflict, violence, and destruction.

In the midst of the overwhelming surges of conflict, violence, and destruction we are all collectively facing, the Forum is a platform where regional artists and educators could reflect on the role of Southeast Asian arts in society, and explore the way in which we as a cultural community can express our thoughts and respond to the ongoing issues.
