Nang Sida is the wife of Phra Ram and the incarnation of Phra Lakshmi, consort of Hindu god, Vishnu. She is the embodiment of purity, loyalty and devotion and is often depicted as a beautiful, virtuous and graceful woman. Abducted by the demon king Thotsakan who desires her, she is rescued by Phra Ram with the help of the monkey general Hanuman. Nang Sida endures trials questioning her faithfulness, facing hardship and misunderstandings in the story, but ultimately reunites with Phra Ram.
