2020 marked the 22nd year of the Ngee Ann National Teochew Artists' Exhibition. The annual exhibition was organised by the Ngee Ann Cultural Centre (NACC) and brought together close to 80 Teochew artists, to celebrate their heritage as well as their talents and contributions to the local art scene. Long serving former board member of the Academy and illustrious alumnus Mr Poon Lian was awarded the prestigious Ngee Ann Artist of the Year Award. The NACC introduced a new award this year, the Young Aspiring Artist Award, to encourage and inspire the next generation of Teochew artists. The inaugural award was awarded to emerging Singaporean artist, Ms Danielle Poon.
