Anagard: From nasi pandang to the world delves into the life and work of the Indonesian stencil and street artist Anagard. Known for his vibrant murals and street art, Anagard's work explores themes of humanity, diversity, and environmental awareness.

Born and raised in West Sumatra, Anagard embraces the Minangkabau tradition of "merantau" or wandering, which shaped his nomadic lifestyle and artistic practice. His experiences travelling the world and interacting with diverse cultures have profoundly influenced his work.

The keynote essay in the book by Dr Bridget Tracy Tan (in English with accompanying Bahasa Indonesia translation) introduces Anagard's unique artistic style, characterised by bold colors, intricate patterns, and symbolic imagery drawn from his roots and his experiences, explore deeper meanings and his commitment to using his art to address pressing social issues.

The book also features Anagard's collaboration with artists from Singapore and Yogyakarta, including NAFA alumna printmaker Cathrine Oslo, prop-making collective 556 Industries, 11 Indonesian artists who collaborated with him through video, digital and street art, showcases his ability to blend his artistic styles and techniques across diverse medium,  while still maintaining his signature message of hope and understanding.
