Depth of Being marks Cultural Medallion recipient Wee Beng Chong's 16th solo exhibition. Born in 1938, Wee is a NAFA alumnus and a long-serving teacher at the academy who has contributed tremendously to the art scene in Singapore. The book published in conjunction with the exhibition features over 100 works by artist that illustrate his mastery in a variety of mediums. Works include oil paintings, sketches, Chinese ink paintings and calligraphies, sculptural works and seal engravings from 1960 to 2019.
The book includes a full-length essay discussing Wee Beng Chong's works by art critic Cai Xin.
