Ayutthaya is published in conjunction with the hybrid academy exhibition titled Flagship Genius Featuring Ayutthaya. The exhibition was jointly presented by ISEAA and the academic schools in NAFA. This accompanying publication showcases the creative output of the interdisciplinary collaborations for the academy-wide project through a selection of works by students from various disciplines such as 3D Design, Design & Media, Fashion Studies, Fine Art, Dance, Music and Theatre. It also includes personal impressions of Ayutthaya by members of staff and faculty.

An introductory essay by Dr Bridget Tracy Tan, Director of ISEAA & Art Galleries, provides insights into the magnificent kingdom of Ayutthaya in Thailand, which flourished during the mid-17th century with a unique, cosmopolitan character. As a subject matter and creative stimulus, Ayutthaya offers a myriad of inspiration and ideations for contemporary Southeast Asian art practices. The manifestation of the programming was critically integrated into the curriculum and course modules to expand the academic investigations of conventional disciplines into the realm of Southeast Asian art.
